Name: Haneli ('Hane' means 'wing' or 'feather' in japanese, plus the "li" ending that many Ritos have in their names)

Hometown: She lived her childhood in Dragonroost Island, but she soon mooved to Windfall island

Personality/Traits: Calm and quiet; solitary and reserved in general, but very friendly with those she trusts. Also, she takes time to start trusting people.

Clothing: She wears more Hylian-style clothes than the typical Rito garbs. On her forearms, though, she wears the same red bands that most ritos wear.

Weapons: N/A She is peaceful and lives a quiet life in Windfall.

Appearance: A bit short and quite slender. She has red eyes, like most of her tribe, and she has medium-long brown hair, with a white fringe. Under the bands on her arms, where her wings should be able to appear, she has many scars, as well as on the rest of her arms and some of her body. Picture: [link]

Strengths: She is intelligent and wise, and she has a wide vocabulary. She has a strong will, even though she may hide it under an insecure exterior. She is an author, and writes stories and poetry. She also helps at the school in the island.

Weaknesses: She lacks muscular strength, or any physical abilities, and her health is quite feeble. She also lacks the ability to fly.

Background: Haneli was born in Dragon Roost Island, and she grew there, quite happy. Her parents were separated, though, so she barely saw her father. She lived with her mother, but she, too, spent a lot of time away, delivering post. So she spent a lot of time alone and with other people besides her family, and loved exploring the island as far as her feet could take her. The day she recieved her wings, she was told not to fly very far yet, and wait until she had been taught by a mentor and had enough experience. But that afternoon, she took off without anybody noticing, and flew to places she had always wanted to explore when she couldn't reach them. Unluckily, one of these places, a cave in the face of the cliffwall, was a Kargaroc nest. The mother was not there when Haneli came inside, and she reached the end of the cave, where the nest with the eggs sat, without problems. There was a wide rift before the wall. At that moment, the Kargaroc mother flew inside, and, furious, attacked her. Hanely was pushed backwards, and fell into the gap. As she fell, she opened the wings to fly out, but that was a mistake, as the walls were too close and she did not have enough space. Her wings were scratched and broken, and stripped of feathers. She was stuck in the middle and had to wait for hours before she was found.

From that day onwards, she had such a bad time in Dragon Roost Island, seeing wings every day, and watching as all her friends grew wings and learned to fly, that she was sent to Windfall Island. There, she attended the "School of Joy", and made friends with the kids there. She began to write literature, and after leaving the school, she started helping there too for a living. She shares a tiny house with Kamo, and only goes to Dragon Roost Island every so often, for special festivities and to see her mother. One day she met Hoskit, one of the Rito guards there, and they began to keep in touch via letters. After some time she became his girlfriend, and she visits Dragon Roost Island to see him, too.

Love: She is Hoskit's (a canon character) girlfriend. She is mentioned during gameplay, too, but she is not described or named.
